3 Sessions of Traditional Tennis Camp for all Ages and Ability Levels

The Seahawk Summer Tennis Camp at UNC Wilmington is a fun focused day camp that provides top level tennis  instruction to all age groups and ability levels.  All sessions will be directed by UNCW Head Men's Tennis Coach-Mait Dubois (July Sessions) and UNCW Head Women's Tennis Coach-Hans Olsen (June Sessions).  Our staff of instructor's will include college coaches, college players and the area's top tennis instructors.

2023 Seahawk Summer Tennis Camp 

The Seahawk Summer Tennis Camps are a dynamic tennis camp with programs for ages 7-18 (boys and girls) and leveled groups for beginner, intermediate, advanced and tournament elite.  Each session is directed by UNCW Head Men's Tennis Coach - Mait Dubois (June Sessions) or UNCW Head Women's Tennis Coach - Hans Olsen (July Sessions).  Our coaching staff will include the UNCW assistant tennis coaches as well as our Seahawk varsity players and local teaching pros.  All of our camps are held at the UNCW Tennis Facility.

Our coaching staff takes each student through a process-oriented approach to tennis development with a focus in footwork, stroke development, technique, tactics/strategy, team building and FUN!  Campers are grouped by age and ability level and the instruction is geared towards their appropriate level. 

We are excited to announce the 2023 dates/sessions:

JUNE 19-23:  Day Camp - Directed by Mait Dubois
JUNE 26-30:  Elite Camp - Directed by Mait Dubois
JULY 10-14:   Day Camp - Directed by Hans Olsen
JULY 17-21:   Day Camp - Directed by Hans Olsen
JULY 23-26:   Overnight Camp - Directed by Hans Olsen 


The Summer Camp is designed for students who wish to learn and improve their tennis skills in a fun, activity-based environment. 
The beginner will receive instruction with an emphasis on technique and the fundamentals of the game.  Court movement will be an important area of emphasis for the beginner. 
Our intermediate campers will be exposed to a progressive training environment.  Each student will receive instruction in stroke development, agility/footwork and point play strategy.  
The advanced camper will be challenged in every aspect of their game.  In this training environment players will quickly be able to develop their skills with on-court drills and competitive match play. 
The elite tournament camper will receive training in mental strength, court movement, shot selection, shot tolerance and taking time away from their opponent.  This dynamic training environment will be process-oriented. 

"These Camps are neither supported, controlled, nor supervised by The University of North Carolina Wilmington, but rather is under the sole supervision, control and sponsorship of Camp Director - Hans Olsen and Camp Director - Mait Dubois.  All Seahawk Tennis Camps are open and accessible to individuals with disabilities while balancing the risk of physical injury to the individual and others. Participation in any program or camp by individuals with disabilities is subject to prior and ongoing review by Seahawk Tennis Camps. In order to assess and evaluate a request for an accommodation, the camp must receive notice of the individuals desire to participate no later than 60 days prior to the commencement of the applicable camp. Inquires may be directed to the appropriate camp director - Hans Olsen or camp director - Mait Dubois.
